The CEO is instrumental, together with the Safety Director, to ensure that the external world is confident that a good internal Just Culture is present in your company. They need to be assured that the company wants to learn and improve at all times. You can demonstrate, using examples, that the good are rewarded, the weak are coached and … yes the bad people will be taken care of.
You ensure that the outside world, especially the press and the judiciary, are aware of the benefits of your Just Culture and that their actions can be harmful to that. Everyone is convinced that your Just Culture is ensuring the safety of the public. There is no need for them to act in principle, unless in severe and defined cases.
